• Africa's total population will rise to 2 billion by 2050 where 1 in 5 of the world's inhabitants will be of African descent
• Africa's working-age population will rise to 1.1 billion by 2040 making it the largest labour force in the world
• Africa's working-age population has a median age of less than 20 years making it the youngest labour force in the world
